Frequently Asked Questions
Answers on how consultations work, fees and booking, and how YuvedaLife fits alongside medical care.
Getting started
What is Vedic wellness?
Vedic wellness draws from traditional Indian systems of knowledge that view wellbeing through the relationship between the body, mind, daily life and individual nature. At YuvedaLife, Ayurveda provides the primary framework, complemented where appropriate by yoga, breathwork, meditation and mantra. Vedic astrology (Jyotish) is available as a separate consultation.
What is Ayurveda?
Ayurveda means "knowledge of life" (ayur = life, veda = knowledge). It is a traditional system from India and a sister tradition to yoga. It looks at wellbeing through your individual constitution and offers guidance on food, daily and seasonal routines, and lifestyle.
At YuvedaLife, Ayurveda is used for wellness education and lifestyle guidance, not medical care.
Do I need to know my dosha before the consultation?
No. You do not need any prior knowledge of Ayurveda or your dosha. Before your Initial Consultation, you will complete a detailed intake form, and we will use it to explore your constitution and current patterns together.
If you're curious, the free dosha quiz is a helpful start.
Where should I start?
If you are unsure which service is right for you, begin with the complimentary 15-minute Discovery Call. We can discuss what you are looking for, answer questions about the approach and decide whether working together makes sense.
Sessions
Are consultations in person or online?
Both. Meet in person in the Buffalo, NY area or online from anywhere in the United States. The free Discovery Call takes place online.
What happens during the Initial Consultation?
Before we meet, you will complete an intake covering your daily routine, food and digestion, sleep, stress, lifestyle and what you would like to explore.
During the 75-minute consultation, in person or online, we will discuss your constitution, current patterns, priorities and what feels realistic within your daily life. Guidance may draw from Ayurveda, yoga, breathwork, meditation and mantra, depending on what is relevant to you.
Afterward, you will receive personalized recommendations to help you put the guidance into practice.
Do you use all of these practices with every client?
No. The approach is individualized. Some people benefit most from changes to daily routines or food. For others, yoga, breathwork, meditation or mantra may be appropriate. The aim is to find practices that are relevant and realistic for you rather than prescribe a fixed program.
Do I need to be vegetarian or change my lifestyle?
No. Recommendations are designed to work within your existing life as much as reasonably possible. The goal is practical changes you can keep up consistently, not an idealized lifestyle.
Is Vedic astrology included in the Initial Consultation?
No. Vedic astrology (Jyotish) is a separate 45-minute consultation. It includes an advance review of your birth chart and discussion of up to five questions submitted before the session. You will need your date, exact time and place of birth.
What can I explore in a Vedic Astrology Consultation?
You may submit up to five questions on areas such as career, relationships, major transitions, personal development, timing or broader life patterns.
Vedic astrology is used as a traditional framework for reflection and self-understanding. It does not replace professional medical, legal, financial or other advice.
